On Wednesday 25th March, Tom Pearson, Jason Bickers and I went down to London Olympia exhibition centre where the IPTV World Forum was taking place. This was to film some promotional videos of some of BCS's clients and this is the first of them, Broadband Forum.
All 3 of us filmed and recorded sound on the day but this time I have the job as editor as I live in Nottingham and can easily show Brian (Managing Director of BCS) different versions of the film while the other two are home for Easter.
The film is going to be sent to the client to be used how they like to advertise themselves, but also on the BCS website.
Last Thursday (12th March) we had a lecture on film titles. I hadn't previously thought much into the titles for my film, so this helped open my eyes a little as to what I can do to make my film look more authentic.
Now as a video dairy style operated by someone who supposedly doesn't know how to work a camera my advice was to keep titles as basic as possible. This even meant writing titles on using the camera (if it had that function).
My film is in a similar style to The Blair Witch Project, so for me to make titles and edit to suit that kind of seemingly uncontrolled style, it will benefit the look and feel of my film.
Unfortunately my trial copy of Photoshop has expired (again) so I cant show a still of what I mean and I've looked on Google and its hard to find a still of what I mean on their too, so you'll just have to use your imagination :P
